The Coast’s brightest young business person could soon be recognised as the best in the state, with Laura Prael in contention for the NSW young entrepreneur award. The talented 32-year-old heads up Gosford-based company LEP Digital, where she employs an all female team to provide content strategies for small and medium-sized businesses.
Ms Prael won the Central Coast Business Chamber young entrepreneur award as a result of her efforts — a category which former NSW Business Chamber Central Coast Regional Manager Daniel Farmer noted as the strongest in history— and will now contest the state awards on November 23 at Luna Park.
“Before this year I have never entered an awards program,” she said. “I had no expectations, especially against established Coast businesses. “I hope that winning this award will inspire other young women and help them feel deserved and capable.”
Ms Prael said the Central Coast community had truly embraced her business and she hoped to do the region proud. “Winning such a big award (Outstanding Young Entrepreneur for the Central Coast) in my hometown, where I grew up and studied, is an incredible honour,” she said.
“The people here are very different to our Sydney and US markets. They’re warm, embrace new thinking, and really care about what they’re doing and how it betters their community.
“This is just the beginning of great things to come.”
