LEP Digital hosts charity event to raise funds for Cancer Council

Erina, 20 March 2023

This Sunday afternoon, 26 March, LEP Digital is hosting a High Tea in the Grand Ballroom at Crowne Plaza Terrigal Pacific, with the aim of raising $10,000 for the Cancer Council Central Coast NSW.

Mel McCrone, the Digital Marketing Manager at LEP Digital, is the event organiser and a long-term supporter of the Cancer Council.

In 2019, Mel participated in the Stars of the Central Coast — an event that invites local personalities to dance at gala event for cancer — and raised more than $27,000. That year, Mel took out the award for the highest fundraiser. So, it was no surprise that Mel was invited to return as an ‘All Star’ for this special 2023 event.

Mel’s purpose for supporting the Cancer Council is to help create a cancer-free future for her two children. Having damaged her skin from time in the sun as a child, she has already had several skin cancers removed.

“It was a different time and we didn’t know then what we know now,” says Mel.

“Since then, cancer research, prevention and support has improved so much; I hope that with more funding we can continue to make a difference.

“My children have great things to achieve in this world and if I can do anything to help make that a future free from cancer, I will.”

The funds raised will go toward supporting the Cancer Council in the work it does to assist people as they navigate their cancer journey, easing their emotional and practical burdens and helping them make informed decisions.

“The High Tea includes live music, a lucky door prize, and great raffle prizes,” Mel says.

“We’re grateful to our local community, including Crowne Plaza Terrigal Pacific, for coming together to support this event,” Mel adds. “It’s going to be a fabulous afternoon.”

Other sponsors making in-kind donations include: Cinta Collections; Jade Loungewear; Sarongs Ladies Fashions; When Love Sparks – Wedding Services; Eastcoast Juices; The Langham Gold Coast; voco Kirkton Park Hunter Valley; The Ary Toukley; Holiday Inn Sydney St Marys; Smart Gift Ideas; and Encore.

Join LEP Digital for an afternoon of fun, food and fashion.
